  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Use Plant Trees
How is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?

I think planting trees makes everyone healthier in general. First off, trees give off oxygen. Which we need to live. I think can also help us mentally and spiritually because it connects us with the environment and shows us how we can make the world a better place.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Reduce Animal Products
In your opinion, what contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other countries? What does this say about North American values and ways of living?

Americans eat way more meat than other countries. North America is not the healthiest country for the reason of eating so much meat. Eating meat imits greenhouse gases. This is why North America has a lot of greenhouse gases because of the amount of meat that is eaten here.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Smaller Portions
Fun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?

Some benefits from eating less is mental and physical health of your body. Over eating can cause obesity and being over weight.

Many people waste food just because it isn't as new as some of the other product or goods. But still eating food and goods that are still healthy and not expired could save a lot of waste in the world. If it doesn't smell or look bad it shouldn't be wasted.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Women and Girls Support Women-Owned Businesses
Globally, women typically invest a higher proportion of their earnings in their families and communities than men. How can you better support communities by supporting women? Can you share any past experiences that may help others take action?

    Kayleigh Maloney 4/22/2019 4:17 PM
You can support women in the community by supporting businesses run by women or important things women do in the community. You can show support by listening to their opinions and spreading want they want to be heard.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Instead of flying to North Carolina my family decided to drive instead of take a plane. It may have taken longer but it is much better for the environment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transport Try Carpooling
List some of the places you frequent often (work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?

I have dance 3-6 times a week. Me and 3 other girls in my area carpool there and back. Everyone saves a lot of gas this way. It is much more efficient to carpool and it causes less pollution.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transport Use Muscle Power
How do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience or enjoyment differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?

Some rides aren't safe or possible by walking, biking, ect. But when it is not too far or it is safe, I do walk and bike places. I also carpool with my friends to dance. This means less gas is in the environment which is less pollution. the less we drive, the less pollution is in the environment.
