Merrin Pearse 4/23/2019 10:56 PMWithout a personal connection to nature people don't really appreciate how reliant humans are on a well functioning and healthy natural ecosystem. I hope that by reconnecting people to nature via animals (particularly wild animals and birds) they will have a stronger appreciation and be prepared to make more changes in their lifestyle choices. -
Merrin Pearse 4/23/2019 8:00 PMThis ecochallenge has really shown me even more great ways that we all can make a difference to the way we currently abuse the planets natural beauty. -
Merrin Pearse 4/23/2019 7:59 PMDisappointed to hear that one of the ice cream brands available here in HK is switching from paper packaging to plastic packaging without put a system in place to encourage people to recycle or return the packaging. -
Merrin Pearse 4/23/2019 12:04 AMJust cycled past a guy chopping the copper pipes out of the back of an old refrigerator.
Until there is a financial reward for returning refrigerators to the Recycling plant with their motors and copper pipes in tack that is worth heaps more than the price of copper I can't see how we can stop people who live below the poverty line in HK from recycling the copper while letting the refrigerants escape into the atmosphere. -
Merrin Pearse 4/22/2019 12:30 AMOh bother, was so busy with other initiatives to reduce humans impact on this planet that I forgot to get started on the EcoChallenge.
