REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Social Justice Improve a Bus StopHow can you advocate for transportation systems which minimize environmental impact while also meeting human needs?
Grant Peters 4/23/2019 5:27 AMI didn't get around to this, but it's on my list of things to do. I have contacted Public Works about the bus stops in town and will fight to make them clean and hospitable. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Use Plant TreesHow is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?
Grant Peters 4/23/2019 5:26 AMI'll be honest, the trees won't be planted until Saturday, but they will be! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Install a Toilet BankHow can your region/household prepare for changing water situations in order to become more resilient?
Grant Peters 4/18/2019 5:45 AMWe recently installed a 3 Litres per flush toilet that I have recommended to clients through my professional career - now I can give first hand experience! I find people get very hung up on toilet maintenance and always worry about the worst case scenario (people flushing inappropriate objects for example). There's no reason we can't save water 99% of the time and just deal with the outliers accordingly. -
Grant Peters 4/08/2019 11:06 AMTough to meet my challenges today - I'm on the road for work. That means no biking, less control over food, etc. -
Grant Peters 4/07/2019 10:18 AMUsing KIVA, I selected a woman who owns a restaurant in Colombia (needs tables and chairs to expand), and a family that raises chickens in Zimbabwe. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Support Local Food SystemsDependable fresh food, supporting local farmers and building resilient communities are just a few benefits of local food systems. Which of these (or other) advantages inspire you the most?
Grant Peters 4/05/2019 10:51 AMThis has been tough since I've been on the road for work. Also, how deep do I go in this analysis? How local is local? -
Grant Peters 4/05/2019 7:20 AMWe're currently 53rd out of over 900 teams! Great job everyone!-
Rose Schmidt 4/05/2019 8:41 AMWe are #5 in Canada! I'm learning so much and having fun.
