The challenge kept me mindful of ways that I can make an impact on a daily basis.  Developing these types of habits will carry into the future for me as I work to be more sustainable in my personal life.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Generation Support Companies Leading in Green Energy
Every dollar you put into solar or wind is a dollar not put into traditional financial institutions. You'll also be bolstering the fossil fuel divestment movement, too. Name some companies you know that invest in green energy. How can you support them?

How does environmental quality influence your sense of community?

    Lori Stettler's avatar
    Lori Stettler 4/22/2019 4:52 AM
Environmental quality is key to building community as people who live in higher quality areas are ore inclined to create community and have work hard to maintain or improve that quality for themselves and their family

We rely.  On too.  Much plastic, we waste to much food and water and energy.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Learn the Truth About Expiration Dates
How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?

    Lori Stettler's avatar
    Lori Stettler 4/16/2019 5:12 AM
Sell by dates are store driven and are an industry standard, use by dates are a suggestion as to how long the food is fresh.  You should always smell or tase the food before blindly going by these dates.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Smaller Portions
Fun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?
