REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Recycle Everything I CanHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?
Daniel Tullai 4/12/2019 8:54 AMI can reduce the things I buy, I can reuse the things I have, I can refuse things I don’t need I can repair things that have broken and I can repurpose things that people throw away. I already do some of thease things and I can definitely do more. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood CompostingProducing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?
Daniel Tullai 4/11/2019 8:11 PMHow much energy that is being wasted is what motivates me, mostly because I know that alot of our energy in the US comes from non-renewable resources most of which have many negitive affects on us, animals and the environment. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Keep Track of Wasted FoodAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Smaller PortionsFun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?
Daniel Tullai 4/09/2019 8:10 PMSome other benefits may include not over eating and more appreciation for the food you are eating. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Support Local Food SystemsDependable fresh food, supporting local farmers and building resilient communities are just a few benefits of local food systems. Which of these (or other) advantages inspire you the most?
Daniel Tullai 4/09/2019 8:08 PMAll of thease advantages inspire me mainly the dependable fresh food advantage. I believe that fresh, organic, unprocessed food should be more available to all people no matter there financial situation. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Learn the Truth About Expiration DatesHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
Daniel Tullai 4/09/2019 8:05 PMIt empowers me to eat food that is not yet bad and therefore wast less food. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsIn your opinion, what contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other countries? What does this say about North American values and ways of living?
Daniel Tullai 4/09/2019 8:03 PMI think that the majority of people in north America eat so much meat because one it is all over the media and it is ingrained into our society and is pushed by society from a young age and two north americans have a hard time letting go of things like meat. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Generation Learn More About Geothermal EnergyGeothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?
Daniel Tullai 4/09/2019 7:59 PMWith geothermal energy I can not at the moment invest any money or resources but I can help by advocating and educating people on it.
