Happy Earth Day!! Don't just be smart about the environment today-- be smart about it every day! Lately, I have been using plastic grocery bags for a lot of different things. I am currently making a cosplay and am constructing some parts out of plastic bags to save them and use them instead of just throwing them away I have also been accumulating a lot of cardboard lately and have been rounding up boxes with my family so we can properly dispose of those. It's really fun to use "trash" to make some creative things!!

"Do One Better"-- that is the slogan some of my favorite chips-- PopCorners. PopCorners are NonGMO Verified, Vegan, contain no dairy or nuts, and certified gluten-free. I love them so much and was able to get some today. One thing I have noticed throughout my life is the fact that healthier foods (gluten-free, nonGMO, vegan, dairy-free), are so much more expensive than their other counterparts. I have a gluten intolerance and have to watch the foods I buy closely, and end up finding out that they are always more expensive. Is it because it takes longer for them to be produced? Why are healthier foods more expensive? I just want to know the real reason because it really puts a hindrance on people who suffer from allergies.

What did you find out? What is the most interesting fact you learned?

I had absolutely no idea that there were so many ways to help drawdown emissions and CO2 levels. I also did not know that a plant-rich diet is so much more efficient than a meat-rich one, as I do not have a majorly plant-based diet. The most interesting thing I learned is that even though it will cost a good amount to put forth supply-side and demand-side solutions, the money will come right back because you end up saving more money than you initially spend out, and I thought that it would be an opposite effect.

    Materials Go Paperless
What do you want to prioritize over material 'stuff' in your own life?

People my age tend to be extremely materialistic, but they do not realize that you do not have to have a lot of things to be happy. I tend to prioritize working hard at school and with my job over stuff what kind of junk to buy next. You shouldn't put all of your attention to building up clutter, you should be cleaning up the clutter. When you are thinking about buying something, look at the object and say, "Do I really need this?", and if you really don't, then don't get it. Prioritize cleaning up the clutter in your life, not building it up, so don't weigh yourself down with material stuff you really don't need.

Wasting food is something that I have a big problem with. I will make me a big meal and only eat a little bit of it, and I will waste the rest. That is not good at all. I try to prevent myself from doing this by sharing my food with others if I make too much, and saving my food for later. I can also avoid this by cutting my portion sizes. I waste food today that could have been eaten by somebody else, and that is a behavior that I need to change.

    Transport Use Public Transit
How has your access to various kinds of transporation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?

When I was younger, I did not really find the idea of public transportation a good idea. I didn't like the thought of sharing a ride with strangers. However, I've been using public transportation since grade school, and if you rode the bus to school as a kid, you have been using it since you were young too. I use public transportation as much as I can now because one, it saves me gas, and two, it helps save the air you breathe. If public transportation is available, use it. It's that simple.

Unlike my parents, I have gone paperless with thinks like my bank statements, and my bills. If it can be sent via email or via paper, use email. Don't just pile up papers, it's such a waste and you often loose things easier that way. Going paperless is easier than you think it is. Go online and switch your bills and bank statements so you receive them online and not through the mail. It's really easy to keep track of them better too!!
