    Food Reduce Animal Products
    In your opinion, what contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other countries? What does this say about North American values and ways of living?

    I've already touched this question but this article made me circle back to it: https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2019/04/just-finless-foods-lab-grown-meat/587227/?utm_source=pocket&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=pockethits (read if you have the time!). It basically talks about lab grown meat so basically meat that never was alive. This is something I've always been curious about- a lot of the people pursuing this want to chance the way that Northern Americans look at meat. I belive Skylar said this earlier but part of the reason that here we eat so much more meat is because of the low-ish cost of it. Something that really stuck out to me that linked to this was this quote: "This hypothetical friend goes to a Piggly Wiggly to buy burgers. Except—oh wait!—next to the animal-based patties wrapped in clear plastic, he sees a Just burger patty for less money. “That, to me, is what it’s gonna take in order to break the dam of a habit,” Tetrick said.".

    What have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?

    I have noticed the ways that which sidewalks are positioned to keep people off of green spaces (like think out to the labs at our school! Yes we could walk on the grass to get there but in a matter of weeks that'd be easily eroded and just dirt/mud). I've also noticed how much I take for granted my sidewalks! Without sidewalks I wouldnt be able to easily walk around my house or from one place to another (as basic as it seems). I do think that it is hard to get much furhter outside my own neighborhood. I live about a mile outside of downtown yet when ever I go in I always drive. Why? Because there are so many busy/dangerous streets I'd have to cross. Through this activity Ive started to wonder what could make these sidewalks more safe? As well what are some ways to make sidewalks more accessable- alot of the sidewalks I went on where bumpy and in some places jagged or up an extremely steep hill- how would someone using a wheelchair, walker, etc. use those?

    Although I carpool regularly to school I haven't really thought of carpooling to other places because I frequently walk or Im driving there with family. Although I do frequently volunteer at Fernbank Natural History Museum that it is a 15 minute drive to get there, maybe I could ask around to see if anyone in my neighborhood is also a teen volunteer and see if they wanted to work a shift with me. It could be a cool way to make a new friend in the program while saving a car trip! :)
