    Yesterday I had my first meeting on Zoom! An online meeting call that allowed screen sharing and multiple participants. I met with IT and an app coordinator to talk about the use of an app on our campus!

    I guess if I’m answering this question right, I’m inspired by the activism from the Bard Office of Sustainability. There is so much information to learn and so many cool ways to experiment with how I can protect the Earth. It’s not easy but it’s good to have the information in the back of my head and it’s now starting to influence some choices...

    It’s hard to walk through a spread out campus rather than the neighborhood. However, it’s not safe to walk near where my apartment is. I did however enjoy growing closer to nature and appreciating it more.

    Was finally motivated to get the sink in our dorm repaired because of this challenge! Also started a compost bin in the dorm. We're becoming very green here at Sycamore.

    I learned there are dozens of women-owned businesses in our small community of Red Hook. And there are Many places to spend dollars locally with the businesses who support Drawdown goals. Thank you to our local businesses for what you do for climate.   Till next year!!

    We have been working on creating a diaspora garden on campus and have been learning about intercropping, low-til methods and seed-saving.

    I biked to work today for the first time this season and got to hear and see things I don't when I'm inside a car -the good - like  the call of a hawk, the smell of a blooming tree, a turtle crossing the road  and the not so good - bottles and cans tossed on the side of the road (but we'll clean them up on the upcoming Red Hook Clean Up day!) ...

    The degradation of the Everglades habitat is affecting our ecosystem and wiping out the biodiversity. As more and more species become extinct, there are more invasive species in  Florida. This is affecting farming, our economy, vegetation, etc. People are starting to be directly affected.

    Living in Miami, a city with poor public transportation, walking to places would be a convenient way to reaching a destination while lowering our carbon footprint.
