I will cut my car trip mileage by only taking necessary trips, and I will only use muscle-powered transportation for all other trips.

Smaller Portions
#3 Reduced Food Waste
I will use smaller plates and/or serve smaller portions when dishing out food.

Adela Cruz 4/22/2019 10:54 AMI am so happy that our Farmer's Market is back and last Thursday I got all my fruits and veggies from all the farmers around my town, Concord, CA. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodFun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?
Adela Cruz 4/22/2019 10:48 AMthe best benefit for me eating small portions is that I've noticed I am more energetic during the day. -
Adela Cruz 4/22/2019 10:44 AMIn honoring Earth Day today, April 22nd, we took our mother to Muir Woods National Monument this past weekend where you can see the towering old-growth redwood trees and stayed away from all electronic devices the whole day. We had the best time ever and the weather was just perfect :) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodIn your opinion, what contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other countries? What does this say about North American values and ways of living?
-
Adela Cruz 4/12/2019 9:32 AMIt is not as hard as I thought going with 2 meatless meal a day. I have actually increased my vegetable intake, beans and grains and feeling more energetic. Yay! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodDependable fresh food, supporting local farmers and building resilient communities are just a few benefits of local food systems. Which of these (or other) advantages inspire you the most?
Adela Cruz 4/03/2019 3:39 PMresearched and found one CSA farmers market near my town which I will check it out this weekend.
Buttercup Farms Garden is a single farm since 2010 and a one-acre intensively planted, production garden located in Clayton, California that uses only natural fertilizers and pest control.
