REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Explore Other Transport SolutionsWhat did you find out? What is the most interesting fact you learned?
Simon Hampton 4/11/2019 5:59 PMI found out that there are so many ways to reduce our emissions in all sorts of methods of transportation. A very interesting fact I learned was that solutions to passenger transport in gasoline cars is measured in passenger-kilometres. That is basically carpooling, or the distance that it is done. -
Simon Hampton 4/09/2019 6:08 PMI was going to share this only with my family, but they told me to just post it on here instead, which was a good idea. I was supposed to be informing people about bioplastics, so here goes:
Bioplastics are, well, biodegradable plastics. But biodegradable means quickly, not in-100-years-biodegradable, it should take a few months for these plastics to break down. They are principally made out of edible things, like milk, corn, and tapioca. That is the kinda controversial part. Why turn food into plastic if millions of people are starving? Although controversial in some areas, they are very good for the planet. Not only they are biodegradable, but also sensitive to water. Therefore, if they make their way into the ocean, they break down into a matter made out of food, and not harmful to aquatic life.-
Amy H. 4/12/2019 6:08 PMI never new that!

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Keep Track of Wasted FoodAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?
Simon Hampton 4/09/2019 5:03 PM1500 dollars every year! I would be rich! But it would better be spent on other people’s necessities than my “would like to have” objects. For example, why not use it on people who don’t have any food to waste? If nobody wasted food, people wouldn’t be starving!
