It's very sad that so much food go to waste while there are so many people going hungry even in our own cities. Not to mention in the cities & countries where all that food is actually produced. The freshness issue is a subjective definition. Of course, there are some health and quality factors to consider, but if you choose plant choices they are definitely longer shelf-life compared to animal products
