I had been following the city's debate over glass recycling for some time now. Residents were practically demanding it and finally- they have delivered!

REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Recycle Everything I CanHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?
Regan McLaughlin 4/10/2019 6:53 AMWe finally got some glass drop off bins in Alexandria! We had slowly been collecting them and feeling guilty. Our plan was to drop them off at the Fairfax recycling plant.

Regan McLaughlin 4/01/2019 9:26 AMA year ago I challenged myself to go zero waste for a month. For 30 days, I collected and chronicled every piece of trash I produced and every piece of recycling I used. For one month out of my 26 years. All of that waste would have taken up an entire bin if I hadn't prepared myself for the experience. Teaching myself to compost, shop in bulk, purchase secondhand, and grow my own herbs and vegetables has been an uphill battle but every day I feel more connected to myself and the decisions I make on a daily basis.
I started an online community and blog www.alteredeco.org to share my journey.
