Carpooling is something I do often with people who live close to me! It’s awesome that I canadd  that to the impact I’m making on the earth! We need more carpooling and less gas being used!!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Materials Mulch the Base of Trees and Plants
Name some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?

What a coincidence that my family was already planning to mulch around the trees in our yard!
Although we were going to for aesthetic purposes, I’m so excited to hear that there’s a practical, earth-saving benefit to it too!

It’s cool noticing how a lot of the things I’m doing to be eco-friendly have become habits! Such as not using a bag if I didn’t bring my own, striving to not waste food and taking shorter showers!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Reduce Animal Products
In your opinion, what contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other countries? What does this say about North American values and ways of living?

Seeing the statistics of how much reducing animal waste can help is extremely motivating- still haven’t committed to going completely vegan yet
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Composting
Producing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?

Not only have I been composting at school, but my family has been talking about starting our own compost at home! Yippee
