I also realized we can't add actions all the way back to the beginning of the challenge anymore! I biked or walked to the ferry every day, so there are some lost points there :) Good work to all who actively posted and logged their actions!

I committed myself to eating vegetarian this month, motivated by the challenge. Between a trip to TX and the occasional lack of restraint, I didn't (or in TX, pretty much couldn't at a couple restaurants!) meet my goal every day. Still, I plan on carrying this forward and eating less meat or going pescatarian for a while!

There are some alternatives available in my community, though likely not enough. I recently added bamboo fencing to my yard instead of wood, as I originally intended. What other bamboo alternatives can we think of?

Walked from the office to the Seattle Ferry Terminal. Amazing to observe the progress on tearing down the Viaduct. What an amazing transformation our waterfront is going through right now.

I have learned a lot of new strategies and tools to have a more positive impact on the environment. Love it!

To all the CYAGHG members who took the time to participate - thank you! It was helpful to have a few people to connect with on the actions. I hope you learned a few things, shared it with others, and maybe adjusted some behaviors of your own. For me, the knowledge gained in this challenge has definitely been put to use. From learning how to...

Our PUD just opened up applications for community solar shares. But to sign up, you have to go into the office and sign a long term contract. Do you think their handling of solar projects will change (potential for rate based cost recovery) now that WA State just passed a 100% Clean Electricity Legislation?

Happy Earth Day! We are planning an Earth Day Proclamation tonight at my City Council meeting, as well as a joint meeting with the County to discuss our climate change resiliency and adaptation plans. This includes a site vist to the off-channel reservoir we are working together to build to address low-snow pack years and allow for salmon...

Having eaten a mostly vegan diet for the last three weeks, and finding it easier than I expected, my plan is to continue eating a mostly plant-based diet long term. I'll choose locally and organically produced foods when possible to minimize the impacts of my diet on the ecosystem and hopefully see some personal health benefits, too. I'm...

Happy Earth Day, friends! I want to thank Bill for encouraging us to join this challenge. I've learned some new things and have enjoyed eating mostly plant-based this month. It's been fun to try new recipes and overall I feel pretty good. I've even shed a few pounds. While I'm not quite ready to say I'll never eat meat again, I can easily see...
