I am so thankful to have been able to join this challenge! I learned a lot along the way about how we as humans can help decrease our carbon footprint.

I use way too many plastic bags. Reusable bags would be a good alternative.

I had heard about biomass before this challenge, specifically how algae is an emerging biomass energy source. However, I was surprised to learn that biomass is the largest renewable energy implemented in Europe!

For some reason, Americans tend to associate eating meat with wealth and status. Steak seems to be a favorite of the wealthy, and Americans want to emulate this. I've been losing weight since late 2017, so this was a natural transition for me. I'm currently up to 55 pounds lost and counting! Eating smaller portions keeps the mind more alert and active, reducing the feeling of sluggishness that is all too common after eating a bunch.

Electric and hybrid vehicles are starting to be around the same price as the gas only counterparts and that shows that everyone has the availability to use electricity to get around anywhere nowadays
  • April 25 at 1:18 PM
Having the temperature go up in order to save electricity during times that I am not home helps with money as well as uses less carbon overall
  • April 25 at 1:18 PM
I made my roommate replace our regular lightbulbs with LED bulbs in order to both save money as well as have brighter lights
  • April 25 at 1:17 PM
When i am biking to and from the gym i find it more enjoyable to look around at all of the sights instead of just driving by them and not paying as much attention to my surroundings
  • April 25 at 1:16 PM
I've incorporated salads into my diet in order to eat more greens. Supporting the local businesses that make this food possible helps when i eat them
