I have been making an effort to walk more to destinations than Lyfting or Ubering. Doing what I can to reduce the congestion on the streets!

I'm super happy to say this challenge is working really well for me!  I've been diligently keeping my food waste diary, and the shame of having my waste posted in my kitchen has really encouraged me to waste less!  I've been using my leftovers and planning my meals based on what I HAVE instead of what I 'feel like' which has resulted in less food going bad as well!  woot woot!

    Materials Recycle Everything I Can

In our house we like to have quarterly "purges" where we tackle the often un seen areas of the house, as well as walk through and repair any items that might need it or might be due for maintenance. Example: We will completely wash our dishwasher and laundry washing machine to keep its efficiency up to use less water and power when operating. It is also at this time where we like to post our unwanted items in our Buy Nothing group for our neighborhood. Giving those items to someone who will use them rather than throwing them away.

Meat is cheap and accessible in North America; the true costs are hidden by our political and economic systems.

I currently carpool to work whenever I can. My schedule and work priorities sometimes stop me from doing this, but in general I carpool most of the days in a week. I would say that if I go places on the weekend, I rarely go alone and almost always have a car full of people.

Buildings and Cities Go for a Daily Walk
What have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?

I love to walk around the city daily. What I've noticed is the downtown (towards the water) sidewalks and walking areas are better up kept then when I travel away from downtown. Downtown is also more crowded, so some days I just want to walk and think so I go the opposite direction. I do find myself on higher alert on these walks because of the cities large homeless population and once in a while I'll have to make route changes to avoid an impaired individual.
