REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings and Cities Online Energy AuditWhat are your next steps for saving energy?
Kathy O'Shea 4/15/2019 8:35 AMthe audit I did, was so general, that it gave me no insight at all.It was by Enbridge and since that is our natural gas provider, I thought it would be appropriate. It was not.
I am going to find a better one to do.-
Grant Peters 4/18/2019 5:48 AMI recommend going to the library and borrowing one of their power meters. You can plug it into any standard outlet in your hime, and it will tell you the power draw (in Watts), and if you leave something plugged in for a day or two, it will give you a reading in kilowatt-hours, the same units on your Hydro bill.

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Learn the Truth About Expiration DatesHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
Kathy O'Shea 4/15/2019 8:33 AMI did not realize there was a "use by" option. I try very hard to use all food prior to expiry, but will make a smell, appearance, taste judgement for many things as well.
I have sent the info to my daughter in law, you believes if it is past the expiry date, it is poison. I hope to convince her otherwise. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Go PaperlessWhat do you want to prioritize over material 'stuff' in your own life?
Kathy O'Shea 4/06/2019 8:24 AMThe most important "thing" to me now is time. It goes so fast. I want time to enjoy nature and time to enjoy my children and grandchildren and other family and friends. I have to constantly fight to find TIME. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Generation Learn More about Micro WindMicro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?
Kathy O'Shea 4/04/2019 8:41 AMThere are baseball diamonds that are owned by the town that have a lot of open space. In particular, the one on Town line and B-line.Both of these are separated from houses. Perhaps a tower behind the back stop. The town could use the electricity to run the lights that are used for evening and night games.
