One of the first walks we took was along a busy road. The sidewalks were covered in debris (gravel, hub caps, banana peels) which made the walk less enjoyable and maybe even more dangerous. Fear of getting hit with a hub cap never crossed my mind, and we all know banana peels are slippery. There are probably more walkable sidewalks out there, but sometimes the most efficient route is going to be along a busier road. A little separation from the roadway may be nice in this instance.

That's really cool Lois! Sarah tells me it will be done during lunch hour so I am sorry I cannot join. Have you seen the #trashtag posts online? People around the world have been finding areas in their communities that could use a little TLC and they collect all the garbage that has been left there.

One of our Earth Day Activities next week is a trash clean up along Frontage Road.  So other walkers can avoid those slippery banana peels and flying hubcaps!
