Using more local produce, having to put in more time looking for recipes, experimenting with new ingredients

This gets tougher the more I see how screwed up we are & how many things I can act on. It could be a 24x7 job - and I guess it really is.

TVP chili was okay. Frittata was a take on my usual omelettes (which turn out better). Next to try - nutritional yeast & soy nuts.
In researching, found palm oil in my shampoo, masquerading as Ammonium lauryl sulphate. Went further & found 6 pages of names for palm oil & its by-products. Such a pain checking these on food & non-food items! Did find a Canadian producer of palm-free shampoo tho' no loccal vendors.

Lordie, I follow 1 thread of ugly, anti-Green practices & get led around the world about the endless interconnected evil practices. This could be a full-time job, it sure takes so much time making life changes. 1st TVP meal today.

Read about it last year during the EcoChallenge. I was surprised to learn that any kind of fuel-burning could be part of the climate change solution, but I do understand the importance of interim measures.

Don't understand the limit of 15 1-time challenges. I learn from all of them & hopefully have some effect

While legally equal, Canadian women still deal with a system built on misogyny. There is a double-standard in the workplace that is particularly prevalent in politics, where men can get away with acting like Donald Trump, but women must walk a fine line. Alberta's newly elected Premier opposes women's right to choose. Women are still expected to do the bulk of child rearing. And I have otherwise progressive friends who are against affirmative action because they are convinced the women will be less qualified.

For me, the most sexist environment I have personally lived in was a STEM university program. It had a rich and beloved tradition of excluding, mocking, and objectifying women. Fortunately, students are actively working to change that attitude.

Seems a majority of voters do not believe in climate change, most votes go to parties which even actively promise to cut Green initiatives!
