Neighbours for the Planet Feed

BACK TO TEAM PAGE

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Captains Carrie and Aimee, special thanks to you for organizing this Eco challenge, the whole family has really enjoyed it.  It is a lot to think about for improving our environmental impact.

What does your vision of a sustainable community look like? What would need to be changed in order for such vision to become reality?

We need to utilize bio gas technology and learn that waste products can be converted to useful gas to generate electricity and useful fertilizer.  We have to stop just stockpiling waste products or burying them when they have useful applications which can help to replace fossil fuels.

Ooops hit Post too soon!    It is amazing to see our impact in such a short period of time!  As they say, every action counts!

Wow.  I can't believe this is the last day!   I had a ton of fun doing the challenges and learning so much from drawdown as well as being inspired from people posting!  I will be staying on my whole food, plant based diet as well as try to get my daily walks in.  Unfortunately I don't always get the time to do them, but as the weather warms up and the evenings get longer (in terms of daylight), I will be inspired to get out there!   Thanks everyone for being such a great team!

It was fitting that my final ecochallenge walk was along the beach in sunshine, listening to the sea lions barking. I've greatly enjoyed doing all the challenges I took on, and fully intend to keep walking at least 30 min everyday, no matter what the weather or how many other commitments I have. Kudos to this site for inspiring so many to take action. ♥

Oh how wonderful.  I used to walk along New Westminster and hear the sea lions bark and it was so amazing.  How I miss the west coast and it's beauty!
