I learned this week that it may be more harmful to use Electric Cars because the C02 levels are high in the manufacturing of the batteries? Anyone??

Buildings and Cities Go for a Daily Walk
What have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?

I live in a relatively rural area so my walks have been taken around my yard and down our gravel road. I have enjoyed being able to view nature. I can't think of any infrastructure changes that would make my walks more enjoyable.

How is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?

I enjoy planting trees.  We have a number of young trees around our farm and I enjoy walking around to check on them and care for them.  It helps me get a bit more exercise.  I also feel a connection to the trees and look forward to their growth.  I also look forward to the day, not long from now, when more wildlife start to make use of them.  I have ordered a whole bunch of trees from the Washtenaw County Conservation District.  It is not too late as they have purchased 800 extra trees to sell at auction on Saturday, April 27.

Electricity Generation Learn More about Micro Wind
Micro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?

Perhaps micro-turbines could be installed on some county buildings.  I will ask if this has been considered.  In my reading I have seen that wind generally costs more per kWh, however, it may make sense in areas inappropriate for solar eventually.

I joined the challenge to learn more about steps I and Washtenaw County can take to reduce carbon output while maintaining—or improving—quality of life.

Buildings and Cities Choose LED Bulbs
Changing lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! What's next for you?

I have changed some of my light bulbs to LED bulbs, and intend to change others in my house as the existing ones burn out.  I also am making a concerted effort to shut off lights in unoccupied rooms (and reminding my family to do the same).

Food Learn the Truth About Expiration Dates
How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?

I did not know that "use by" and "best by" were essentially the same; I had thought that "use by" was the only label that did signal a spoilage concern.
